San Angelo Rodeo was rodeo No. 5 in the Texas Swing and it was bareback rider Leighton Berry’s third win at a big indoor rodeo in his home state.
With an 88.5-point ride in the Finals on Championship Pro Rodeo’s Cajun Queen, Berry reminded everyone why he is the No. 1 cowboy in the World.
“I knew I had a really great horse of Will O’Connell’s, of Championship Pro Rodeo and never been there before. She had a really good day today. I knew the horse would have some power with these guys and this pen of horses, so it worked out the way I wanted it to,” he said.
Berry, who also won San Antonio and HHouston, went on to say how blessed he was to cap off the winter run in Texas with yet another win.
He ended up with 175.5 points on two head in San Angelo to lengthen his lead in the World Standings to $27,000.
