Leighton Berry has been unstoppable so far this season.
Fresh off a huge win in San Antonio, he followed it up with an impressive showing at RodeoHouston to be the Champion.
With a 90-point ride on Calgary’s one and only Yippee Kibitz, it was Berry’s highest marked ride of RodeoHouston, sending the Texas cowboy onto the next one with a huge swing of momentum.
“I actually won Ponoka on this horse last year too, the first time I had her. You can’t ask for any more out of this bucking horse. She stands in the box like a dog and just leaves there and let’s you do everything you’re wanting to do. She’s never easy, she’s going to test you every jump but, whenever you’re doing everything right, it feels so awesome,” Berry said.
In total, Berry left RodeoHouston with $57,375 added to his season earnings and he now sits No. 1 in the PRCA World Standings. He is also currently leading Rodeo Austin with an 88-point ride leaving no doubt that he is on a mission for a Gold Buckle in 2023.
