Lazy E Arena’s Ironman Rodeo is Underway

The Cinch Timed Event Championship, dubbed the Ironman of ProRodeo, has been held every year since 1985 — and this year is no different.

Twenty of today’s top rodeo cowboys are currently gathered in Guthrie, Oklahoma, at the Lazy E Arena vying for the $100,000 payout. Throughout the event, they compete in five rounds of heading, heeling, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, and steer roping.

Held in conjunction, the Jr. Ironman Championship features 10 contestants — five chosen by the National Little Britches Rodeo Association and five by Lazy E Arena via an application process — to go three rounds heading, heeling, tie-down roping and steer wrestling.

Last night, Steve Kenyon talked to Dan Wall all about both Ironman competitions, which kicked off this morning.
