Ky Hamilton Wins Redding Rodeo With 85.5-Point Ride in First Performance

Ky Hamilton’s draw for Redding Rodeo was Brookman Pro Rodeo’s Far West and the pair teamed up for one of two qualified rides made during the first performance in California. Hamilton, the No. 1 man in the PRCA Bull Riding World Standings, topped the leaderboard and stayed there the rest of the way to collect a check of $5,878.

Afterward, Hamilton said that Far West was working for him by taying underneath him.

“You’ve got to be strong in the core and your back and if you do that they usually ride like a Cadillac,” he said.

Only five other bull riders made the whistle over three performances in Redding. Kase Hitt finished second with 84 points and Levi Gray was third with 85.5.
