Ky Hamilton will miss at least one round of Wednesday’s doubleheader at the NFR.

The top-ranked bull rider in the world smacked his head against Honeycutt Rodeo’s Bales Hay’s MAGA and lost consciousness during Round 5 on Tuesday night. He suffered a concussion and is out for Round 6 (1 PM ET/10 AM PT) and will be re-evaluated prior to Round 7 (8:45 PM ET/5:45 PM PT).

“He’s doubtful for competition (Wednesday) evening,” Dr. Tandy Freeman told ProRodeo.com.

Hamilton had ridden his first four bulls at the NFR and banked about $148,000 including ground money to surge to the No. 1 spot in the PRCA World Standings with $402,013. He also leads the NFR Average with 341 points on four head. Behind him, Sage Kimzey and Trey Kimzey have both ridden three.
