Bareback rider and musician Kody Lamb is coming into the Canadian Finals Rodeo at number one for the first time in his career after capitalizing on great draws and staying injury-free throughout the season.
Lamb has neared the finals on several occasions but was interrupted by injuries, such as a torn pectoral muscle and multiple concussions.
Being a singer and songwriter, Lamb found solace in his music, using it to navigate through his injuries and challenging periods.
“I think anytime you go through an injury or anything like that you have a lot of emotions especially with high expectations for your rodeo career so having the opportunity to vent some of that out and get it out of my head and maybe on the paper is a bit therapeutic for me,” Lamb said.
Following one of his busiest and most successful seasons, Lamb is currently dedicating this time to prepare for the CFR with the goal of maintaining the top-ranked position as he chases the Canadian National Title.
You can watch all of the CFR action beginning Nov. 1 on The Cowboy Channel and Cowboy Channel+.
