The Kitsap Stampede was one of two PRCA Playoff Series rodeos in Washington over the weekend and one of five in the Evergreen State in a two-week stretch.
In bareback riding, it was a tie between two young cowboys looking for one huge push to crack the Top 15. Waylon Bourgeois and Cole Franks were both 85.5 points.
Laramie Warren was the champion of a very fast steer wrestling that saw eight cowboys stop the clock at 3.8 seconds or faster. Warren’s 3.4 was one tenth better than Stephen Culling.
In team roping, Cash Duty/Sid Sporer were 3.5 seconds to win the rodeo by three tenths over surging pair Tyler Wade/Wesley Thorp.
Stetson Wright rode Big Stone Rodeo’s Give or Take for 86.5 points to claim the saddle bronc riding win, it is the eighth time he has been 85.5 points or better since July 31.
World No. 1 Riley Webb picked up one of his three wins over the weekend at the Kitsap Stampede with a 7.3-second run to extend his single season earnings record to over $245,000. He also made a 6.6-second run at the Horse Heaven Roundup and a 7.4-second run at the Gem State Stampede.
With a run of 17.25 seconds, Tarryn Lee was the champion in the barrel racing.
And in bull riding, Trey Kimzey was 87.5 points on Big Stone’s Lone Star to win $5,700 and go from No. 10 to No. 8 in the PRCA World Standings.
