Kirsten Vold on the impact the Steiner family has had on bareback riding

Bobby Steiner (1973 Bull Riding World Champion) and Sid Steiner (2002 Steer Wrestling World Champion) are continuing a bareback riding tradition that began last May - the Riggin’ Rally.

On April 3, bareback riders will return to the Steiner Ranch in Weatherford, Texas for the third-ever Riggin’ Rally and the second one hosted at the Steiner’s home.

The standalone bareback riding event will feature 50 of the top cowboys competing for PRCA money and a Riggin’ Rally buckle.

Kirsten Vold, the owner of Vold Pro Rodeo, said these events are overdue and the Steiner family has put their energy and effort behind growing the sport.

“We needed somebody to really take ahold of it,” she said. “We have the Xtreme Broncs, we have the Xtreme Bulls, so it was time for us to add bareback riding.”
