The PBR is getting in the rodeo business with Kid Rock’s Rock N Rodeo, a team event featuring rodeo legends as captains.
Earlier this week, the teams were revealed in Nashville. At the helm, are Bobby Mote, Cody Ohl, Trevor Brazile, Sid Steiner, Charmayne James and Fred Whitfield.
The event will be held on Friday, May 17 at AT&T Stadium, which is during the PBR World Finals. The rodeo will be nothing but head-to-head competition.
“For casual fans, it’s really easy to understand as a sport,” PBR CEO Sean Gleason said. “We’ve gotta really appeal to the next generation on their terms of the entertainment they want and the experience they get.”
For Kid Rock, this rodeo is about investing in something you believe in. He has been playing rodeos for 25 years and that resume includes shows at Cheyenne, Calgary and Houston. With this event, he wanted to create something great that fans, contestants and the PBR all believed in.
“Who knows where it could go? And that excites me, something a little out of the box, a little outside my comfort zone, but trying to do something for the better of everything that’s cool in this country,” he said. “We could all create something great together.”
