Tuesday morning’s slack round resulted in some tough times to beat in the timed events at Pretty Prairie, Kansas, but last night’s competitors proved up to the challenge.
In the first perf of Kansas’ largest rodeo steer wrestler Cody Devers, team ropers Jaguar Terrill and Tyler Whitlow, and barrel racer Emily Miller all bested the fastest times and moved to the top of the leaderboard in their events.
In the first rough stock performance, Jamie Howlett took the lead in the bareback riding with an 86.5-point ride on Beutler & Son Rodeo’s Empty Pockets and bronc rider Ross Griffin won the round with an 82.5. It was also an exceptionally exciting night of bull riding with top athletes and four qualified rides. Coming out on top was the young Australian Ky Hamilton who went 87 points on Beutler & Son Rodeo’s Bandito Bug.
