Kade Sonnier Adds Cowboy Capital of the World PRCA Rodeo Win to Rookie Year Accolades

Kade Sonnier has made quite the statement this year as a rookie bareback rider keeping a lead foot down through the entire season. He added another win to his name at the Cowboy Capital of the World PRCA Rodeo in Stephenville, Texas after making an 84.5-point ride on Pete Carr Pro Rodeo’s Fox Hole Gunner.

“I just got the chills. There’s really no words, it’s been truly humbling and I’ve been truly blessed. The good Lord has given me more than I think I deserve sometimes. Hard work and dedication pays off but it’s got to align with his plan,” Sonnier said.

It was one of two wins for Sonnier over the weekend as he was also the champion at the Springhill Pro Rodeo in his home state.

The Louisiana bareback rider is one that we will see on the back of the iconic yellow bucking chutes inside the Thomas and Mack come December as the pair of wins moved him into the No. 2 spot in the PRCA World Standings, passing Leighton Berry by just $14 with one week left of the regular season.
