Justin Sportsmedicine Update: Dusty Tuckness is One Step Closer to Being Back in the Arena

Dusty Tuckness is four months into his recovery process after an injury sustained in Round 9 of the 2021 National Finals Rodeo.

“Things are starting to look good, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel so God’s good and just looking forward to putting on the finishing touches and being back in the arena before too long,” Tuckness said.

Tuckness broke his leg in multiple places, he had two surgeries and then the recovery process began. On Friday, May 6, Tuckness was cleared to full activities and working out.

“It was great, a couple weeks ago hearing that. Obviously now, we’re firing those muscles different and working them in a higher impact situation now,” Tuckness said.

Of course, he still focuses on stability, hand eye coordination and more. He says the intensity is going up and everything is looking good. He has been able to get back into the dirt some and work the dummy too.

“We’re excited, we’re thrilled, we’re knocking on the door, it’ll be soon when we’re back,” Tuckness said.

Tuckness thrives on being a high caliber athlete and being in the best shape possible as a bull fighter, he is a ten-time PRCA Bull Fighter of the Year and 13-time NFR Bull Fighter for that reason. We look forward to his return to the arena soon.
