Julie Plourde is off to a stellar start in 2025, racking up impressive wins over the past three weeks at rodeos in Claremore, OK, Vernon, TX, and Carthage, TX.
It seems that wherever Plourde competes, the talented cowgirl is cashing checks and climbing the standings as she is currently ranked 7th in the WPRA. After finishing as the reserve Rookie of the Year in 2024, she’s now setting her sights on qualifying for her first National Finals Rodeo.
This year, Plourde had set a goal to have $40,000 in earnings heading into the summer run but she’s already surpassed that milestone, winning more than $44,000 to date.
“It’s a confidence builder,” Plourde said. “I have a new horse that I’ve been running, and everywhere I take him, he places. So I’m excited for what’s coming up in the summer run.”
