Jr. BFI competitors talk about having their own cattle business

Kelton Denham, 13, and Warren Heckman, 11, are already getting connected with some of the biggest names in rodeo.

Both young cowboys are headers competing at the Jr. BFI in Reno this week, but they also have their own cattle business.

Denham and Heckman are both from Texas and have been in business for together for two years now.

The pair buy dairy and beef calves and rope them in the practice pen together and once they are too big, they sell them to older tie-down ropers. They also train the calves to eat, be bunk broke and give them all of the shots to make them easier sell.

Denham and Heckman’s meet most of their buyers at sale barns and some of their buyers have been Tuf Cooper, Roy Cooper and Riley Webb.
