Josh Frost Wins First NFR Average Title At Second Ever NFR

Josh Frost went into his second Wrangler National Finals Rodeo ranked No. 4 and he came out the Average Champion and ranked No. 2 in the world.

Frost rode seven out of ten bulls and he got the momentum rolling in Round 3 when he covered Dakota Rodeo’s Mr. Winston. He wrapped up his finals with a Round 10 win 92.5 points on Powder River’s Top Shelf.

“Was really wanting to start things off with a bang for 2021. After coming down, getting bucked off that first night, I was struggling a little bit mentally but really sat down and looked at my performance goals for the week. It didn’t go good the next night but, you know, figured out what I did wrong, fixed it and that third round was a big one,” Frost said.

Frost made his first NFR in 2019 where he covered zero bulls and in injury early in the 2020 season kept him just out of the top 15 in 2020. He came back to Las Vegas with his eye on a Gold Buckle and he came so close.

“I said I had my sights set on a Gold Buckle and didn’t quite get it, but the Average title is pretty cool to come out with,” said Frost.

It is safe to say we will see Frost in the 2022 season going for gold.
