Josh Frost will enter the NFR in the top 3 for the third straight season. This year he does it at the No. 3 spot with $232,034 in earnings this season. If he wants to win his first Gold Buckle, he has his work cut out for him, as he currently trails Stetson Wright by over $135,000.

Here is a look back at highlights from Frost’s 2023 season.

BIGGEST PAYDAYS

Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, $25,105

Frost started the season off strong with a win at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo where he placed in two rounds and won the Final Round. In the Finals Frost was marked 90.5 points on “On Second Thought” to get the win. The ride in the Finals earned Frost $23,540 total.

RodeoHouston, $23,438

More early-season success for Frost, this time at RodeoHouston where he won over $23,000. In Round 2 he placed second after an 84.5-point ride. He followed that up with a second-place finish in Round 4 after he was marked 87.5 points. Those two rides were enough to advance Frost to the Finals where he placed second an 86-point ride, bringing his total winnings to more than $23,000.

HIGHEST MARKED RIDES

Fort Wort Stock Show & Rodeo Finals, 90.5 Points

As stated above, the 90.5-point ride in the Finals won Frost the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo to get his year started in a big way. The ride beat out Stetson Wright who placed second with an 87.5-point ride.

Magic Valley Stampede, 90 Points

Frost’s second ride marked 90 points or higher came at the Magic Valley Stampede, where he went the full eight on Bouchon. Frost was marked 90 points for the win and earned a check of $4,250.

NOTABLE WINS

BULLNANZA, 88.5 points

Frost had a great start to the season with his performances over the Winter stretch. Hidden between the big rodeos was a nice win at Bullnanza where he was marked 88.5 points to get the win and earn a $6,000 check.

California Rodeo Salinas, $14,757

Frost had a great showing at the California Rodeo Salinas where he won the Opening Round with an 84.5-point ride and would also take the average. In total, he won more than $14,750 at the rodeo.
