Jesse Brown dominated the steer wrestling in Santa Maria.
He won Round 1 with a 4.6 second run and then followed it up with a 4.5 to win Round 2 of the two-head rodeo. Brown’s aggregate time of 9.1 seconds on two was more than two seconds faster than the cowboy in second place, Levi Rudd.
“I guess I had two of the better (calves),” Brown said. “There were some strong ones out that took a few guys out of it, I drew pretty well.”
Brown is getting hot at the right time and the two-time NFR qualifier moved to No. 11 in the PRCA World Standings following the win after entering the weekend in 15th.
