It is the reigning World Champion Jess Pope who shares the lead in the Long Round of San Angelo Rodeo. Aboard Pete Carr Pro Rodeo’s Painted River, Pope put an 87-point ride on the board to split the No. 1 spot with Clayton Biglow.
“It felt really good, you know, it’s nice to get on one really good that can let me do my job, tuck my chin, roll my shoulder down. I just had to spur every jump, it felt really good,” Pope said.
After deal with some injuries, Pope changed part of routine and he is all good to go now and his ride in San Angelo proved it.
Along with Clayton Biglow, it’s Richmond Champion, RC Landingham and Pope’s younger brother, Ty, who round out the Top 5 in San Angelo’s Long Round.
