Jayco Roper Bests Loaded Bareback Riding Field in Final Cheyenne Quarterfinal

It was a loaded bareback biding field Thursday at the Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo and none were better than Jayco Roper, who says he knew he had to be good with his competition.

Jayco Roper was 84.5 points on King Wentz Rodeo’s Red Velvet to best World No. 2. Leighton Berry by a point and three-time World Champion Will Lowe and six-time World Champion Kaycee Feild by 1.5 points.

“I was pretty nervous today it was a pretty stacked set. I was really blessed to draw a good horse. I feel really good, spurred the best I could,” Roper said.

Roper is moving on to the next round where he will compete to move on to the Finals. The trio of talented bareback riders above will be joining in the Semis at the Daddy of ‘em All, which are at 2 PM ET on Friday and Saturday on The Cowboy Channel.

“I’m so excited. I’m feeling really good, I feel healthy,” Roper said. “I can’t wait for what’s to come.”
