Jake Pratt and Hunter Herrin split first in competitive Pool A tie-down roping at Calgary Stampede

Jake Pratt and Hunter Herrin both earned $10,500 to share first in Pool A. The other two cowboys advancing to Championship Sunday are Cory Solomon ($9,750) and Marcus Costa ($9,500).

Pratt had an interesting time on Day 4, he stopped the clock at 7.6 seconds and the initial indication was that he broke the barrier, which turned out to be a malfunction. Pratt won Day 3 and placed in three rounds in the pool.

PRATT’S 7.9-SECOND RUN ON DAY 3

Hunter Herrin also won $10,500, including a 6.6 on Day 1 of the rodeo. Herrin also placed fifth on Day 2 and third on Day 3.

HERRIN’S 6.6-SECOND RUN

In third place in Pool A was Cory Solomon. The two-time Calgary Stampede champion was 7.2 on Day 1 to take third and 7.1 on Day 2 to win.

SOLOMON’S 7.1-SECOND RUN

Rounding out those advancing to Championship Sunday is Marcos Costa, the 2017 World Champion. Costa was 8-flat on Day 4 to cinch his spot in the semi-finals. He was fourth on Day 1 and second on Day 2.
