Jackie Ganter got faster in each run at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, culminating in a 16.30-second run in the Finals which won her the rodeo and the payday that comes with it.
After the run, Ganter talked about her horse Tycoon, who has battled through injuries to get back to competing.
“I asked him for everything he had and he gave it to me.”
An emotional Ganter was still in shock after her win.
“This is incredible, I couldn’t sleep last night and I asked God for some confidence and I can’t believe I’m here right now.”
Ganter beat out Hailey Kinsel and Sister for the title. Kinsel placed second with a time of 16.35 seconds. Rounding out the cowgirls who got paydays was a trio of NFR qualifiers - Sissy Winn in third and Wenda Johnson and Jordon Briggs splitting first.
