Going into World Champions Rodeo Alliance Buccaneer Days Rodeo, multiple athletes were eligible for the Triple Crown of rodeo. The Triple Crown is a $1 million cash award who win first place at any three consecutive WCRA Major Rodeos. After the Final Round and a payout of $553,000 in Corpus Christi, the playing field for the Triple Crown has been reset.

In the breakaway, Tacy Webb came in looking for a million dollars. She did her job in the Progressive Round on May 12 but it was one hundredth of a second too slow. However, World Champion Jackie Crawford is the lady who walked away with the Championship Title and is now on the board for WCRA Major wins.

Riley Webb has been in the position to win the million dollars before and at Corpus Christi, he was there again. It came down to Webb, Kincade Henry and Jaxson Clegg in the Showdown Round. The three cowboys were all within tenths of each other’s times but Kincade captured the win with a 7.44 second run.

Three-time World Champion Bareback Rider, Tim O’Connell was another cowboy that was headed towards $1 million. The Showdown Round of the bareback riding was stacked with tough competition. O’Connell was up against R.C. Landingham and Chad Rutherford. Cinching his second WCRA Major and landing his spot at the next chance for a million is Landingham.
