We are through four of the seven brackets at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo and so far, no one has collected more money than 23-year-old bull rider J.T. Moore.

Moore was the only cowboy that had two 8-second rides and he earned $5,760 for his work.

“It’s really awesome to have been able to ride in both buildings,” Moore said. “Last year was special because of the history of that building. This year, being the first in this arena is cool too. I’m feeling really blessed.”

Bareback Riding

Cole Reiner lead the way in the Bareback Riding thanks to an 87-point ride in Bracket 4’s first go-round and an 86-point ride in the second.

Reiner took the top stop in Round 1 and second in Round 2, collecting $3,080 along the way to be the top earner in the bracket.

Joining Reiner in the semifinals is Taylor Broussard, who edged out three-time World Champion Tim O’Connell by $220 to advance.

O’Connell, who had the best ride in Round 2 with an 87.5, is the wild card from Bracket 4.

Steer Wrestling

Mississippi cowboy Will Lummus earned $3,080 in his two qualifying runs. Lummus won Round 2 by stopping the clock at 4.4 seconds.

Jace Melvin was the other semifinal qualifier after a 4.4 himself in the first round.

Tristan Martin is the wild card.

Breakaway Roping

Amber Crawford had a time of 2.2 to edge out Jordan Jo Fabrizio by .1 seconds in Round 2, however both women are on to the semifinals.

Round 1 winner JJ Hampton is the wild card.

Saddle Bronc Riding

Layton Green and Chase Brooks tied for the top spot in Round 2 with both men notching 85.5 points.

Green did so on Dakota Rodeo’s Rising Star and Brooks did so Dakota Rodeo’s Little Sicilla.

Green moved on the semifinals and Brooks will be the wild card after losing a tiebreaker to Coburn Bradshaw.

Bradshaw had the best ride of any cowboy in Bracket 4 with 87 points on Dakota Rodeo’s Bartender.

Tie-Down Roping

Tyler Milligan was the top tie-down roper on Thursday night with a run of 8 seconds even. That was enough to tie him with Cimarron Boardman for the top spot in Bracket 4 with $2,200 each.

Boardman tied with Rhen Richard for the fastest time in Round 1 on Wednesday night at 8.4 seconds. Richard will be the wild card for the bracket.

Team Roping

The pair of Britt and Jake Smith registered a time of 21.5 seconds on Thursday night but because there were only three qualified runs in team roping in Round 2, the pair had enough money from their second-place showing in Round 1 to move onto the semifinals.

Doyle Hoskins and Monty Joe Petska tied the Smith tandem for first place in the bracket with second-place finish on Thursday and a third-place finish on Wednesday.

Brooks Dahozy and Jeremy Buhler had a 6.9-second run to win Round 2 and advance to the wild card.

Barrel Racing

Hailey Lockwood and Carly Taylor each collected $3,080 to advance to the semifinals, almost $2,000 more than their next closest competitor, third-place Callahan Tryan.

Taylor and Lockwood finished first and second in both qualifying go-rounds.

Taylor raced to a time of 16.54 seconds in Round 1, beating Lockwood by .4 seconds.

However, the reigning World Champion returned the favor. Lockwood registered a time of 16.37 seconds in Round 2, .4 seconds better than Taylor.

Bull Riding

Bull Riding belonged to J.T. Moore, who made north of $5,000 for his two qualifying rides. He was the only cowboy to do so and the only cowboy with an 8-second ride in Round 1.

Texas cowboy Parker McCown rode Dakota Rodeo’s Chief 4 Bears for 85.5 points to claim the other semifinal spot.

Trey Kimzey was the wild card after an 81.5-point ride. He advanced on a tiebreaker over Jess Davison.
