ICYMI: Team Ropers Appleton & Doyal Set New World Record at Snake River Stampede

Records are made to be broken and Mason Appleton & Rance Doyal did just that.

In case you missed it, history was made last week in professional rodeo when Oklahoma cowboys Mason Appleton and Rance Doyal made an outstanding run in team roping at the Snake River Stampede. Not only did they break the arena record—they also set a brand new world record.

Previously, the fastest time on record was 3.3 seconds, first set in 2009 by Chad Masters and Jade Corkill at the National Finals Rodeo. While several top teams have since matched that time, none had been able to beat it, until now. Appleton and Doyal’s groundbreaking run has officially rewritten the record books.

Many in the rodeo community will agree, team roping has never been more competitive. Performances like this highlight the incredible talent and precision of today’s top ropers.
