How Calgary Sets Up For Jordon Briggs, Wenda Johnson and Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi

Jordon Briggs, Wenda Johnson and Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi have both put themselves in good position to advance to Championship Sunday with one round left in Pool C Saturday afternoon.

Earlier in the week, Janie Johnson and Butch Knowles laid out how they thought each barrel racer would approach the pattern at The Calgary Stampede.

Of Briggs, the World No. 1, Johnson said the setup is good for her because it’s similar outdoor pen to Greeley, where she was victorious this year. It’s Briggs’ first appearance at The Calgary Stampede.

Wenda Johnson on the other hand benefits from the versatility of her horses. Mo and Mac allow her to go both directions on the first barrel.

Finally, there’s Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi, the champion of the first two rounds in Pool C. This was something Butch expected earlier in the week because of her ability to win on anything. The two-time World Champion is still looking for her first win in Calgary.
