The Horse Heaven Round-Up concluded with a Championship Round on Saturday night and the champion cowboys left with between $5,000 and $9,000.

The rodeo was a three-head Average in the timed events (except barrel racing) and a two-head Average in the roughstock.

The biggest winner of the entire rodeo was steer wrestler Rowdy Parrott, who won a round and the Average to earn $9,008. With the check, Parrott moved from 19th to 15th in the PRCA World Standings.

“I have a lot of confidence, my horse feels great, my little brother is doing the hazing and he’s doing great,” Parrott said. “I keep drawing good and things keep going my way.”

Barrel racer Destri Davenport made almost as much as Parrott, bringing in $8,965.

“This is his (her horse Titan’s) first year getting to rodeo,” Davenport said. “I’m just honored to get to ride him, he deserves a lot of victory laps.....That horse is just so broke.”

As for the roughstock, Cole Reiner dominated, winning both Go-Rounds and making $3,000 more than the second-place cowboy, the biggest difference in any roughstock event. The Wyoming bareback rider was 88.5 points in the Long Round and 89 points in the Short Round to win with 177.5 points on two. The next closest cowboy was Jess Pope with 170.5.

“I feel like I’m on a second wind right now and really picking momentum back up,” Reiner said.

Other champions in Kennewick, Washington were Clay Tryan/Jake Long in team roping ($5,038 each), Isaac Diaz in saddle bronc riding ($5,998), Quade Hiatt in tie-down roping ($5,933) and Clayton Sellars in bull riding ($7,367).
