Hometown Cowboy Sterling Crawley Splits Cowboy Capital of the World PRCA Rodeo Win

Sterling Crawley made one of two 86-point rides that would win the Cowboy Capital of the World PRCA Rodeo. The hometown cowboy matched up with Pete Carr Pro Rodeo’s Exotic Dancer during the final performance on Sunday afternoon to put on a show.

“I couldn’t really place the horse, hadn’t really seen her but I’d heard how good she was and I’d seen the stock stats on her. She really kind of surprised me with just how nice she really was, started good and just kept building up, it’s kind of one of those rides that you’re hoping for a little bit longer than an eight-second whistle,” Crawley said.

Crawley, who shared the title with Riggin Smith, is in an unusual position as the seven-time National Finals saddle bronc rider is currently ranked No. 27 in the PRCA World Standings. He has picked up momentum and is headed to Sioux Falls, South Dakota for the Govenor’s Cup to cap off his season as best he can.
