Hali Williams Keeps Momentum Rolling at Rodeo Austin

It has been quite the month for Breakaway Roper Hail Williams who took the title at RodeoHouston and now finds herself in a great spot to advance to the Finals at Rodeo Austin.

Williams knows how important a win in Houston is for your season.

“I have been doing interviews and it is still such an incredible moment, how do you put it into words?”

Williams comes from a rodeo family, her father, Speed Williams has been vital to her success, but her mother’s impact can’t be overlooked.

“My mom is the solid ground that we all rely on. She is here with me and luckily she is with me this year. She is an incredible horsewoman and will get out there with my horse when I am having problems.”

Williams and her horse, Red Light are making a name for themselves at the biggest rodeos in the world, but there was a moment when she didn’t know if Red Light was going to be able to compere.

“I convinced my dad to go in as partners with me, and so I went and tried this horse. I went for a vet check and he didn’t pass the vet check because he had a chip in his knee...I had four months off of him and he has just kind of taken off since.”

Williams went 3.20 seconds in her Semifinals round and has a great shot at moving on to the Championship Round in Austin.
