Guymon Pioneer Days Rodeo: Sunday Matinee Daysheet, Performance 4

It is time for the fourth and final performance in Guymon, Oklahoma. Each contestant knows exactly what they are chasing to take over the lead and for some, the bar is high. Dean Thompson’s repreat 90-point ride on Frontier Rodeo’s Gun Fire leads the bareback riding and team ropers Dustin Egusquiza and Levi Lord hold onto the Average lead by over five seconds.

BAREBACK RIDING

Rookies Brayze Schill and Wacey Schalla are trying to add big bucks to their season. Schill’s draw is a horse whose only out of the 2024 season so far resulted in an 86-point ride. As for Schalla, Frontier Rodeo’s Otis was covered by Rocker Steiner in San Antonio for 82.5 points.

STEER WRESTLING

A stacked list in the bull dogging includes your Round 2 winner, Jake Shelton, who’s 3.8-second run is also the fastest run of the entier rodeo this far. Trell Etbauer has also already collected a check with a 4.1-second run in Round 1.

TEAM ROPING

The team roping has stayed fast. Multiple teams including Adam Rose and Gralyn Elkins along with Clay Smith and Coleby Payne have already collected Go-Round checks. According to prorodeo.com only three teams have caught all three head making it anybody’s game regardless of Egusquiza and Lord’s lead.

SADDLE BRONC RIDING

Sterling Crawley has a rematch with Frontier Rodeo’s Lonesome Eyes. The two met in Texas City in November to be 82 points at the Lago Mar Reunion Roundup. The horse has only had one other out of this season and it came back in March.

TIE-DOWN ROPING

Shad Mayfield captured the Round 1 win with a 7.1-second run and Chet Weitz was right behind him with a 7.4-second run. Cash Enderli’s 27.9 on three head still leads the Average with Corbin Fisher just behind him.

BREAKAWAY ROPING

Amanda Coleman’s 2.4 tied for the Round 1 win with Montana Brown. They will back into the box for Round 2 today chasing a 2.3 to take over the lead, however, there is a half a second between first and second in Round 2.

BULL RIDING

Josh Frost is up against an unridden bull of Frontier’s High Voltage. He has only had two outs according to Stock Stats and both resulted in no score. As for Trey Holston, Whats Up has only had one out that ended with an 82-point ride. An 86.5-point ride is currently leading as we go into the final performance.
