Greeley_1280

The Greeley Stampede dates back to the late 1800s and was started as a community celebration to honor local potato farmers. Now, it attracts more than 250,000 people from across the United States. It was officially titled the Greeley Spud Rode in 1922 and had an attendance of 2,500 at the first official festival. In 1972 it was renamed to the Greeley Independence Stampede.

Format

In Roughstock Events athletes compete in the Long Round looking to submit the single highest score. The top-12 on one head will advance to the Finals where there will be another one header, with a Finals Champion and Average Champion crowned. In Timed Events, other than Barrel Racing, athletes will compete in two rounds with the leader on aggregate being crowned champion. In Barrel Racing you get one opportunity to post the fastest time.
