The Greeley Stampede brought some of the PRCA’s best to Colorado to start a pivotal stretch of the rodeo season.
The rodeo paid out almost $250,000 in total and setup some former World Champions well for the big stretch ahead. Shad Mayfield, the 2020 tie-down roping World Champion, was 7.2 to win the rodeo and two-time World Champion steer wrestler Tyler Waguespack was 3.3 during the final performance. Mayfield earned $7,278 and Waguespack collected $5,667.
Waguespack wasn’t the only cowboy to knockoff the rest of the competition on the last day, bareback rider Taylor Broussard broke a three-way tie at the top at 86.5 by going for 89.5 on Beutler & Son’s Black Kat. The other roughstock winners were Isaac Diaz in the saddle bronc and Brady Portenier in the bull riding.
