Golden Spike Rodeo: Recap, Highlights and Payouts

BY BRETT NIERENGARTEN @PRORODEOBRETT

The Golden Spike Rodeo is a one-header in Tremonton, Utah that paid more than $200,000, making it one of the Top 60 paying in the country and a PRCA Playoff Series event.

One of the winners was World No. 2 tie-down roper Haven Meged with a 6.9-second run, one of the fastest of the season and the second-fastest in all of ProRodeo this month. He was eight tenths clear of second place and 1.1 seconds clear of third.

“I just drew a good calf and hit the barrier and the horse worked good and I guess it just all worked out,” Meged told ProRodeo.com. “The season has been great. I can’t complain. But it’s winding down and I’m just trying to keep pushing forward and win as much as possible.”
