1970 World Champion Bull Rider Gary Leffew has credited his success in his hall-of-fame career to his mental approach.

“9 out of 10 rounds won at the NFR last year were won by former students of mine... those guys embrace the mental side.”

At Leffew’s Bull Riding school they not only study the mechanics of all of the great riders, but they focus on being mentally sharp when you’re getting ready to go.

“We teach them how to use their mind, how to use visualization and self-hypnosis to constantly bombard yourself with positive thoughts.”

Leffew is also known for his relentless film study and is passing that along to his students.

“I started breaking down all of the champions and finding they all road at the front of the rope.”

That is what Leffew now teaches all of his students to do.

“By teaching this style I turn out champions. I turn out guys that can ride really rank bulls.”
