The year was 1985 and it was steer wrestler Ote Berry’s first National Finals Rodeo qualification and it was the first year that the NFR was held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The horror stories he heard about the small arena in Las Vegas led him and three others to practice hard at an indoor arena to perfect their techniques and that practicing would pay off. Berry would win the average title along with the World Title that year.
