Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo: Semifinals 1
After a Wildcard Round filled with some of rodeo’s toughest competitors, we are ready for the Semifinals of the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. There are two rounds of Semifinals and the top n4 from each will move on to Championship Saturday and this first set of Semifinalists are sure to bring their A-game.
Cole Reiner has a rematch with J Bar J’s Night Lizard, a horse that he was 83.5 points on at the National Finals Rodeo this past December. Meanwhile, Rocker Steiner has draw Twin Cherry of Calgary Stampede’s. This horse is known to take cowboys to the pay window.
Wildcard Champion J.D. Struxness is hoping to carry the momentum from that round into the Semifinals. Big Will Lummus and Benz have been on a roll and Ty Erickson is out in this set as well. All three are NFR steer wrestlers gunning for their spot in the Finals.
The ladies of the breakaway roping are some of the sharpest to ever swing a rope. Jackie Crawford battled her way back through the Wildcard to be here and among her competition is the defending Fort Worth Champion Kelsie Domer.
SADDLE BRONC RIDING
Canada’s Dawson Hay and J Bar J’s Delta Night have matched up this round. This horse carried Spencer Wright to an 85.5-point ride in Denver. Keeping with the Wright’s, seven time World Champion Stetson has drawn J Bar J’s Painted Commotion, a horse he will have the inside scoop on as Spencer, Rusty, Ryder and more of the Wright family has already had this matchup.
A rivalry that has been around since they were in high school will carry over into the Semifinals in Fort Worth as rising super stars Riley Webb and Trevor Hale make up two of the eight calf ropers that will nod their heads.
All eyes will be on Tanner Tomlinson and Patrick Smith in the team roping. The two made a statement in 2022 that they were planning to do big things. They followed through and are carrying that momentum into this season and Dickies Arena.
