The first of the big Texas indoor rodeos has come and gone and more than $1,000,000 was paid out across all eight events at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo.

In the Finals on Saturday night, the reigning World Champions in every roughstock all went 90 or more points to win their respective events.

Kaycee Feild kicked things off with 93 points for a new bareback riding record at the FWSSR, Stetson Wright was 91.5 points on Ols Tubs Get Smart for his second consecutive 90 point ride and seven-time World Champion Sage Kimzey finished out the World Champion sweep in bull riding with 91.5 on Space Unicorn of 4L Diamond S.

“I don’t watch anybody before me, I have a game plan of how I want to look on that horse,” Feild said about the highly competitive bareback riding Finals. “When I get to the rodeo, strong mark out and let my preparation take care of the rest.”

Feild wasn’t the only with an arena record, either. Wenda Johnson broke the barrel racing arena record she had set earlier in the rodeo on Saturday night and Bryson Sechrist’s 7.2 second tie-down roping run was also an arena record.

“It was exciting to get to run (her horse Mac) here. The owners that have these horses, this is where it started for them. They watched this rodeo and said ‘my horse can be a barrel horse,’” Johnson said. "(This last run) was smooth and easy.”

The roughstock winners weren’t the only World Champions to get it done in Fort Worth. Kaleb Driggers/Junior Noguiera stopped the clock at 4.2 seconds to win the team roping and make a total of five World Champions winners in Fort Worth this year.

“This is an awesome setup, I’ve been dreaming to win this rodeo for a long time,” Driggers said. “To get it done tonight, that’s pretty special.”

Tristan Martin and Kelsie Domer rounded out the champions in Fort Worth. Martin was 3.9 seconds to win the steer wrestling and Domer recorded a 1.8 second run in breakaway, the second fastest time of the rodeo and one of eight runs that were sub 2 seconds.
