Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo: Bracket 1

The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo is officially here. The first of seven brackets kicks off Friday night, take a look at who is to come in Bracket 1.

BAREBACK RIDING

Not only will we see reigning World Champion Jess Pope we will see his brother Ty, who is just getting started in his rookie season. Cole Reiner is also a part of Bracket 1. He made the final four in 2022. Reiner has a rematch with Brookman Pro Rodeo’s Joe Dirt who got the best of Reiner in 2019 at the Richland County Fair and Rodeo.

STEER WRESTLING

The steer wrestling will bring National Finals bulldoggers to the stage like Matt Reeves, Blake Knowles and Kyle Irwin. Knowles and Irwin had no times in the second round of their brackets in 2022 that kept them from advancing.

TEAM ROPING

Team roping will also bring us NFR caliber competitors. Luke Brown and Hunter Koch are looking to be I the money again while Clay Tryan and Jade Corkill are looking for clean runs after penalties found them in both rounds of 2022.

SADDLE BRONC RIDING

Spencer Wright has the momentum going in his direction after advancing on in Denver but, one of his matchups in Fort Worth is Rafter G Rodeo’s Jezebelle, a horse with zero qualified rides in 2022. Reigning World Champion Zeke Thurston will once again go toe-to-toe with Three Belles of Rafter G’s inside Dickies Arena.

TIE-DOWN ROPING

John Douch is out in the tie-down roping up against the reigning Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo Champion Bryson Sechrist. Sechrist proceeded to get faster in each round in 2022 with his fastest time coming in at 7.2 seconds.

BREAKAWAY ROPING

The ladies of breakaway are back in Fort Worth. Lynn Smith went through to the Wildcard in 2022 while Erin Johnson got her winter run started right in Fort Worth when she made it through to the Finals.

BARREL RACING

In the barrel racing Stevi Hillman is out. Last year she made it all the way to the Finals on the late, great Lemon Drop. Hillman always has tremendous horsepower to send down the alley, it is just a matter of who she thinks will best fit the set up at Dickies Arena.

BULL RIDING

Jordan Hansen is out in Bracket 1 again. He advanced from this bracket in 2022, we will have to see his he can make the eight on Rafter G Rodeo’s Typhoon and Goin Brandon. Goin Brandon is three for three this season for buckoffs.
