Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo: Bracket 7

FWSSR B7.jpg

There is one bracket left of the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo before we see contestants battle it out in the Wildcard and go toe-to-toe in the Semifinals, it is Bracket 7.

BAREBACK RIDING

National Finals bareback rider Cole Franks will meet up with Sankey Pro Rodeo and Phenom Genetics’ MLW’s Irish Eyes for the first time. This will be the NFR bucking horse’s first out of the 2023 season. Another big match up coming is Clayton Biglow and Sankey’s Bronc Riding Nation.

TEAM ROPING

The young gun and the veteran and also fan favorite duo, Tanner Tomlinson and Patrick Smith, had no luck at Dickies Arena in 2022. But they found their stride and went on to end their season with an NFR qualification. Will they have better luck at Fort Worth this time?

SADDLE BRONC RIDING

In the saddle bronc riding, it is Stetson and Statler Wright who will have all eyes on them. Stetson has drawn Sankey’s Overserved and Rafter G’s Orange crush. Dawson Hay went for 88.5 points on Orange Crush earlier this week. Statler’s match ups are Rafter G’s Glitter Gulch and Texan.

BARREL RACING

Barrel racer Jimmie Smith-Tew is coming off of an unexpected yet amazing win at the National Western. She got that win on a horse that is normally her outdoor horse. Will we see Nicki run into Dickies Arena? The National Western Champions will be up against the arena record holder, Wenda Johnson. Johnson broke the record twice last year, it is safe to say that Mac loves Fort Worth.

BULL RIDING

It should be a big bracket of bull riding. Stetson Wright, Ky Hamilton, Trey Kimzey, Brady Portenier are just a few of the cowboys you will see out. Among the bulls in racket 7 are Rafter G’s Gold Chain Cowboy, Thor and Yeti’s Big Poison on Monday. Tuesday will bring us the likes of Pickett Pro Rodeo’s Pendleton Punchline and J Bar J’s Muscle Car Magic and Apollo 12.
