BAREBACK RIDING

In the bareback riding, Kaycee Feild and Leighton Berry should bring us some rank rematches. Feild has Pickett Pro Rodeo’s Night Crawler who he rode for 92 points at the 2022 National Finals Rodeo while Berry has drawn Pickett’s Top Egyptian who he also had in Las Vegas and won a round on.

STEER WRESTLING

Reigning World Champion Steer Wrestler Tyler Waguespack claimed the first round of Fort Worth with a 4.5, can he do it again? Dalton Massey, J.D. Struxness, Riley Duvall and Landris White were the only other steer wrestlers to get a qualified run in Round One.

TEAM ROPING

Marcus Theriot and Cole Curry took the first round of team roping with a 4.9, just one tenth slower than the fastest time of the rodeo this far. NFR teams Luke Brown and Hunter Koch along with Aaron Tsinigine and Kyle Lockett are looking for fastest time this round.

SADDLE BRONC RIDING

Ryder Wright is following up an 89.5-point ride with a matchup of Rafter G Rodeo’s Sundance. Kolby Wanchuk and Wyatt Casper finished in the money in Round One. Tonight, Wanchuk matched up with Short Night while Casper has drawn Real Fancy.

The horsepower in the tie-down roping for Bracket Two is all there. With Haven Meged, Logan Bird and Tyler Milligan and reigning World Champion Caleb Smidt on the daysheet and a few out for redemption after Round One, tonight will be quick.

BREAKAWAY ROPING

The breakaway roping is loaded with NFR caliber ladies. Shelby Boisjoli, JJ Hampton, Taylor Hanchey, Beau Peterson and Taylor Munsell are all out tonight. Hampton, Hanchey and Munsell topped the leaderboard after Round One.

BARREL RACING

It is also shaping up to be a tight race in the barrel racing. Shelley Morgan, Bayleigh Choate and Dona Kay Rule were the top three in Round One but Lisa Lockhart, Kassie Mowry and the young Taycie Matthews are in their bracket too.

The only one qualified ride from Round One came from Jack Gilmore and Gilmore’s matchup tonight is Best Life, a Pickett Pro Rodeo bull that is unridden. Coy Pollmeier has been on a roll in Fort Worth and tonight, he drew Necessary Roughness, who’s only out in 2023 resulted in a qualified ride.
