Stetson Wright will not ride until July 9 due to an ongoing wrist injury that was made worse at the Greeley Stampede.

Wright told ProRodeo.com the injury required surgery after one of the bones in his left wrist was broken off completely and pressing against a nerve in his hand.

“I got home from Greeley, and they went in and removed the pieces of bone the next day (June 30),” he told ProRodeo.com.

Wright, who is currently No. 1 in the PRCA Bull Riding World Standings and No. 2 in the Saddle Bronc World Standings, plans to return at the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo in Utah.

Wright has won three All-Around World Championships, one Saddle Bronc Riding World Championship and one Bull Riding World Championship since 2019.
