Idaho cowgirl Darby Fox made it to the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo through their qualifier in late December. The middle of January rolled around and Fox showed everyone just what she was made of making her the Female Athlete of the Week.

With a barely sub-15 second run in Round 1 to notch a sixth place finish overall and first in her Go-Round, Fox came back in Round 2 to dominate. Her 14.88-second run was the fastest Round 2 run of the entire rodeo and she moved on to the Semifinals.

In her Semifinal, Fox was a 15.04 to win it and move on to the Final Round with a shot at the Championship. She when on to finish fifth, but still made almost $10,000, and dis so on a mare that she has a special place for.

“I remember the day we got her. She’s just been so special to me. I just knew she was going to be something important and it’s really cool to see it come to fruition and to see her really come into her own this year.”

With an outstanding trip to Denver, Fox is now sitting No. 10 in the WPRA World Standings and is your Female Athlete of the Week.
