Fallon and Baby Flo Return to ProRodeo

2014 world champion barrel racer Fallon Tayor was listed on the performance three daysheet for the Cave Creek Days Rodeo, but no one knew who she’d be riding. Over the last few weeks, she’s been heavily hinting about bringing Baby Flo out of retirement, so the question was certainly on everyone’s mind. The Cowboy Channel’s Justin McKee was so curious that he called Fallon before the rodeo on Sunday to see if she was bringing the little sorrel mare that could.

With two electrifying performances in the books, the Sunday night performance at Cave Creek was much anticipated for a couple of reasons. Not only would we crown the first ProRodeo champions since before the COVID-19 shutdown, but we’d also find out if we’d see the return of one of barrel racing’s most iconic horses.

It was when we saw the little red “record” light that from her Go-Pro that we could see Fallon was entering the back of the alley. Then we got a glimpse of the faint white star and peeled-back set of ears.

Enter Fallon Taylor and Baby Flo.

Flo pranced into the area on-the-muscle and ready to roll. Fallon, calm as a cucumber per the usual, gracefully guided Flo to the center of the arena, made a perfect circle, then Flo took off like a bottle rocket.

Their first turn was something out of a barrel racer’s dream. Flo moved like a well-oiled machine across the course. Unfortunately, the mare lost her footing and slipped behind the third barrel. Flo recovered quickly, but ultimately not quick enough.

They did not place, but they were certainly a joy to see competing again. Watch Fallon and Flo’s run from the Cave Creek Rodeo Days below! Check out the results from the rodeo here.
