Bareback rider Waylon Bourgeois has picked up steam towards the end of the summer. Getting himself a rodeo win, a Go-Round win and placing at two rodeos has made him your Exmark Roughstock Athlete of the Week.

In Kennewick, Washington, Bourgeois rode Calgary Stampede’s Weary Joke for 84.5 points to split the Go-Round win before he matched up with powerhouse bronc, Zulu Warrior in the Finals. An 81.5-point ride in the Finals was enough to put him fourth in the Aggregate. Bourgeois added over $3,000 to his earnings at the Horse Heaven Roundup.

He followed it up with an almost $5,000 win at the Kitsap Stampede. A matchup with Big Stone Rodeo Inc’s Mayham turned out to put an 85.5 on the board to tie for the win.

Bourgeois’ week wrapped up with a second-place finish at the Gem State Stampede. An 83 on Corey & Lange Rodeo’s Salina’s Girl put him in the money behind Keenan Hayes.

Currently, Bourgeois is the No. 25 ranked bareback rider in the World and he is only adding to it. He is your Exmark Roughstock Athlete of the Week.
