Richmond Champion was the champion at three out five rodeos he entered last week and at the other two, which were both Playoff Series Rodeos, he placed in the money, making him your Exmark Roughtstock Athlete of the Week.
At the Northeast Montana Fair and Rodeo, Champion picked up his first win of the week.
With an 86-point ride on J Bar J’s Gronk he added over $1,600 to his earnings.
His second win came in Lovington, New Mexico at the Lea County PRCA Rodeo after a massive ride aboard Pickett Pro Rodeo’s Uncapped that totaled for 88.5 points.
It was a ride worth almost $6,000.
He rode the momentum back into Montana where he matched up with Brookman Rodeo’s Flirtacious in Bozeman. The two put together an 84-point ride that brought in another $4,000 to his earnings.
The wins paid him a total of $11,522, but he wasn’t finished.
In Hermiston, Oregon at the Farm-City Pro Rodeo, Champion finished second on Calgary Stampede’s Erotic Tango.
An 85-point ride for the seven-time National Finals Rodeo qualifier helped him cash more than $3,000.
At the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo, Champion put together another pay window worthy ride on The Cervi Brother’s Ruby Girl when he covered the horse for 86.5 points.
Champion is now the No. 13 ranked bareback rider in the world, up from No. 17 entering last weekend. He is looking at a possible eighth trip to the bright lights of the Thomas & Mack in Las Vegas after a week in which he won more than $15,000.
