Two of the three go-rounds for Super Series 5 are complete and they both went to Sage Newman

Sage Newman is sitting just outside the Top 15 in the World at the half way point in the Texas Swing and his sights are set on moving up. Getting the first two go-round wins in his Super Series at RodeoHouston makes Newman your Exmark Roughstock Athlete of the Week.

Newman’s matchup in Round 1 was Cervi Championship Rodeo’s R Watson’s Ed Bishop. Eight seconds later it was the highest marked ride of RodeoHouston this far with a leaderboard topping 89-point ride.

In Round 2, Newman would cash in the No. 1 spot yet again after he drew another Cervi Championship Rodeo bronc, Cactus Flats. This score came in at 87.5 points to get him the Go-Round win by a whopping six points.

With one round still to go, Newman has currently racked up $6,000 and already secured his place in the Semifinals.

Newman is the two-time defending RodeoHouston Champion after a 90-point ride on Womanizer cinched him the title in 2023. He is setting himself up to do it all over again with even better outs in the Super Series this season, and if he were to do it again, he’d be the first bronc rider to ever three-peat at this prestigious rodeo.

Newman’s impressive first two rounds inside NRG Stadium have made him your Exmark Roughstock Athlete of the Week.
