Exmark Roughstock Athlete of the Week: Chase Brooks Hits a Triple Jackpot at Cowboy Christmas

Saddle bronc rider Chase Brooks’ Cowboy Christmas has him moving up the standings

Chase Brooks has a ways to go to get back into the Top 15, but an outstanding Cowboy Christmas has him that much closer. Three hefty paydays came his way to make him your Exmark Roughstock Athlete of the Week and after being outside the Top 50 a week ago, he is now No. 36 in the PRCA Saddle Bronc Riding World Standings.

The smallest of Brooks’ paydays came at the Killdeer Mountain Roundup in North Dakota. An 86-point ride on the up-and-coming horse of Pickett Pro Rodeo’s, Pretty Glamorous, put him third on the leaderboard. This would add $4,200 to his earnings.

Up next for the Montana Bronc rider was the Cody Stampede where Brooks put the first qualified ride of the season on Frontier Rodeo’s Frontier Medicin. The 89.5-point ride is also the highest score ever earned on the young horse. The second-highest payday of Brooks’ swing came in at $9,785 from the legendary Wyoming rodeo.

The biggest check that Brooks cashed in over Cowboy Christmas would be thanks to a second-place finish at one of the most iconic Fourth of July rodeos, St. Paul. Aboard Big Stone Rodeo’s Give Or Take, Brooks’ 86.5 would be just a half point shy of the win. However, the $10,000 that came with it made for a solid finish to one of the busiest times of the season.

Brooks is sitting No. 36 in the World Standings but there is plenty of time left for the six-time National Finals Rodeo qualifier to win big and make a push into the Top 15, and he is already off to a great start in Calgary by winning Round 1 of Pool B.

For now, his extremely successful Cowboy Christmas has made him your Exmark Roughstock Athlete of the Week.
