Erich Rogers has competed at the Cinch Timed Event Championships the past nine years and this year, he cinched the Championship title.
Consistency is key in the Timed Event Championship and Erich Rogers has proven to be just that after winning the $100,000 in prize money at the Lazy E Arena.
“I went one round at a time and one run at a time, heading, healing, calf roping, bulldogging and tripping” says Erich as he describes what all events the Championship consisted of. Roger’s performance proved to be very steady with consistent times in each round.
Competing against some of the biggest names in rodeo left little, to no room for mistakes. Just seconds in difference between the number 1 and 2 spot created a fun and challenging weekend of competition.
Erich goes on to describe his friendship with Clay Clayman, and his horse, who Rogers rode during the competition for several events, as well as their history of Team Roping together. Due to the Cinch Timed Events format, the necessity of finding a good set of horses for each of these events comes down to a science.
After his success at the Cinch Timed Event Championship, Erich Rogers continues to compete in the RodeoHouston Super Series and hopes to continue with those winning times!
