Emily Beisel Wins Second Consecutive Barrel Racing Round at Cinch Playoffs Governor’s Cup

There have been two rounds in Cinch Playoffs Governor’s Cup history and Emily Beisel has won both of them, setting and then re-setting the arena record in the process.

The Oklahoma cowgirl followed up a 13.95 in Round 1 with a blistering 13.69 in Round 2 to win the round by nearly two tenths of a second.

“I’m having a blast, I came up here with my younger horse and I had high hopes for her, but you just never know,” Beisel said. “She’s been a rockstar, I’m tickled.

Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi and Wenda Johnson, fellow Top 10 cowgirls, split second in the round. With a second Go-Round win, Beisel has already won more than $18,000 in Sioux Falls and will likely go from No. 7 into the Top 5 by the end of the regular season.

Beisel, as well as Pozzi Tonozzi and Johnson, will be among the Top 8 cowgirls competing in Saturday’s Semifinals beginning at 7 PM CT/6 PM MT on The Cowboy Channel and Cowboy Channel+.
