Jeff Askey

Jeff Askey got off to a hot start in the 2023 Regular season and spent the first few months inside the top 10. Thanks to that hot start, Askey was able to hang on to an NFR appearance and will head to the sixth of his career in the No. 14 spot.

Here is a look back at Askey’s 2023 Regular season as he prepares for the Thomas & Mack.

BIGGEST PAYDAYS

San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, $26,833

The Texas Swing is why Askey is heading to the NFR and no rodeo was bigger for his season than the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. Askey took the title after placing second in two rounds and first in another before heading to the Finals. In the Finals Askey was marked 90 points on Shade Tree to get the win and bring his total earnings over $26,000.

RodeoHouston, $14,250

Just days after his win in San Antonio Askey was on his way to another great payday at RodeoHouston. He won two rounds and placed third in another to earn nearly $15,000 in total.

HIGHEST MARKED RIDES

San Antonio Stock Show And Rodeo Wild Card Round, 90 Points

Askey had two 90-point rides on the season and they came back-to-back at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. The first was to extend his rodeo in the Wild Card Round on Let’s Go Brandon. Had Askey not advanced out of the round he likely would have missed the NFR by losing out on the money he earned in the Finals.

San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo Finals, 90 Points

The night after his first 90-point ride of the season Askey was marked 90 points for the final time on the year in the Finals to earn an additional $15,000 at the rodeo. Askey beat out Dawson Gleaves who went 87.5 points to get the win.

NOTABLE WINS

San Angelo Cinch Chute Out, $12,500

Askey took home $12,500 after two great rides at the San Angelo Cinch Chute out. He opened the rodeo with an 88.5-point ride to win the opening round and lock in his spot in the Finals. He was nearly as good in the Finals, going 88 points to get the win and earn the big payday.

Gooding Pro Rodeo, $5,945

Askey earned a nice check at the Gooding Pro Rodeo where he went 88.5 points on Burnt Oil to get the win. Askey was three points better than the field at the rodeo and earned nearly $6,000 with the win.
