Dustin Egusquiza and Levi Lord took over the lead in both Round 1 and the Average of the Didge City Roundup Rodeo after a 5.0-second run in Performance 2.
With his head horse having a small stumble and the steer not doing what they were expecting, Egusquiza said he left behind the whole time and Lord roped two feet like he always does.
“It’s just from rodeoing and learning when to take a fast shot and then tonight, we already probably got a little bit of round money so we wanted to just catch and make sure we come back for the finals,” Lord said.
The team has turned their luck at Dodge City around as they have not had much success at the Kansas Rodeo before. They sit No. 1 in the Average with 11 seconds on two head and they look towards the Short Round.
